Turing Vision V1.11 Release Note

Web app updates

  1. Archive - Unlimited video clips can be archived on Turing Vision's cloud indefinitely and you never have to worry about losing important footage such as events, alerts, videos or NVR playback clips (up to 5 minutes worth).

You can archive a video in two ways:

Click the ARCHIVE button when watching an event or alert clip; or

Archive a NVR playback video by selecting a start time and end time and create a title. (when the archive process is complete, you can view the video in the ARCHIVE tab).

When you open an archive video, you can view the video, edit its title and notes, download, or delete it. In the next sprint, we will add "Share” to share an archived video. The archived video is saved in MP4 file format that is widely-supported by major mobile phones, laptops, and browsers. However, after the video format conversion, the AI details in an event/alert video (such as detected faces and license plates) are no longer present. The feature is supported by the Bridge versions 1.1.1 or higher

  2. Sharing - Users can share an event or alert video clip with any email and phone number, regardless if the person you share with has an Turing account or not. Receivers can open the links to view the video clips and see event and alert details (such as detected faces and license plates).

TURING doesn’t limit the number of emails and phone numbers users can share. However, the links to share events and alert videos are valid for seven (7) days. In the next sprint, you can archive videos and then share them if you plan on sharing for a longer period of time.

  3. View Detection Areas in the cloud

    1. The admin or user (site manager) of an account can view camera settings in the Vision cloud without being on the same local network as the camera.
  4. Multi-selecting vehicle attributes in search is now available.

Mobile and Web app updates

  1. Custom Alert Engine and Notifications - A user can setup custom alert rules and notifications for a specific detected face, a vehicle license plate. Alerts and notifications can also be based on vehicle color, vehicle body type or vehicle make. The customized alerts are reflected in the LIST OF ALERTS and ALERTS in the mobile app. The user must setup and enter the notification method in the SITE NOTIFICATION menu in order to receive alerts set in the ALERT RULES menu. If PUSH NOTIFICATIONS is turned on in the Turing Vision mobile app, the user will also receive alert notifications from their mobile device. Both IP Camera Intrusion and Enter Area will trigger alerts, if the event meets the alert rule criteria.
  2. Bridge OTA upgrade-- For new installations or when the bridge software version is not up to date, users will see a pop-up saying UPGRADE AVAILABLE after adding cameras,. For existing installations, users can see an UPGRADE icon next to the bridge with available upgrades in the device settings.

To upgrade a bridge, simply click the UPGRADE button to start the process.

NOTE: while bridges are upgrading, cameras cannot be accessed but their recordings won’t be interrupted. Once the upgrade is complete, the bridges will reboot automatically and the cameras will come online again. The bridge OTA upgrade applies to all bridge versions. Once the feature is rolled out, users can use this feature regardless of their bridge versions. TURING currently supports upgrading one bridge at a time and will keep improving the OTA delivery. If your bridge version is lower than 0.9.0, you may not see its version number in the device settings. The upgrade feature is available nonetheless. Once the bridge is updated, its version will be upgraded to 1.0.3. If your bridge firmware version is higher than 1.0.3, the bridge system will be updated but it won’t trigger a firmware downgrade. In the next sprint, you can upgrade the bridge and NVR to the latest firmware version.

  3. Exclude Searching Vehicles outside of Detection Area

    1. License plates and vehicle attributes outside of the camera detection area do not provide useful search results, so they will be excluded from searches starting with this release.

Mobile app updates

  1. Edit camera names -- Users can edit their camera names using the mobile app.

To edit camera names, go to:

    Menu Settings > Devices

Click on "CONNECTED CAMERAS", and tap the PENCIL icon.

  1. The Left menu update from LIVE to CAMERAS: Cameras are now updated to DEVICES in the Settings menu.
  2. On the mobile app, if your bridge firmware version is higher than 0.9.0, the mobile app can automatically skip the REBOOT YOUR BRIDGE message during the bridge installation process.
  3. On the mobile app, cameras’ online or offline status is visible when selecting cameras to the 2x2 grid view.
  4. Names are now shown in the DETECTED FACES list in People Search.
